Africa For Social Change (AFSC) is dedicated to empowering children, youth and adults through education, skills development, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. We work with refugees and host communities to remove barriers to learning and economic self-reliance, enabling people of all ages and genders to build better futures.

To improve access to quality education and practical skills for individuals and communities to enhance personal development and social inclusion.

To equip individuals with vocational, entrepreneurial, and employable skills that increase self-reliance and economic opportunities.

To promote sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment through income-generating activities, entrepreneurship support, and financial literacy.

To strengthen community capacity and resilience by linking education and skills development to economic and livelihood opportunities.

To promote inclusive and equal access to opportunities for all genders and vulnerable groups within communities.

Inspiring Creativity in Every Child

Creative Arts workshops

Art, music, and drama workshops for children at risk, promoting self-expression, creativity, and preventing anti-social behavior.

Creating Readers, Inspiring Leaders

Literacy and Reading Project

Establish reading clubs and libraries to cultivate a love of reading and improve literacy among refugee children.

Preparing Children for a Digital World

Technology Access

Introduce children to basic computer skills and provide access to digital resources, closing the digital divide in marginalized communities.

Promoting Health, Teamwork, and Fun

Sports

Engage refuge children in sports to foster social cohesion, teamwork, discipline, and healthy recreation.

Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

Life skills sessions in entrepreneurship and leadership

Engage children into such life skills through organizing sessions to build their capacities to navigate the world challenges and become agents of change in this rapidly evolving world.

Our Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment Program

The Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment program supports individuals and communities to achieve economic self-reliance. We do this through vocational training and skills upgrading, entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, savings and loan groups, and support for income-generating activities. The program links skills development to real economic opportunities, enabling participants to increase income, strengthen household livelihoods, and build resilience over time.

Empowering Women to Generate Income

Equip people with practical, job-ready skills and improve existing skills so they can earn an income, start businesses, or access better employment opportunities

Empowering Women Through Financial Independence

Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs)

Encourage women to join community savings groups, fostering financial independence and the ability to invest in their households and businesses.
